Overnight Generation will take part of the exhibition “Beyond Places and Times” at The Library Project in Dublin.

“Beyond Places & Times presents six documentary journeys to places and people living in cities around the world and in between times – oscillating between the past and the present.

Each projects calls for a shifting and adjusting of one’s own viewpoint on the world around us and its photographic documentation, while at the same time projecting our position. Thereby, the relationship between what we see and the tales and stories we imagine along with these photos get twisted. These photographs play with the deprivation of the visible – presenting themselves as fragments, details, deconstructualizations, inspiring the telling of stories alongside the act of seeing. What do I see? And what don’t I see? What do these photos tell me? And what am I telling myself?

The journeys of these photographers test our current position and challenge us to discover new perspectives and new understandings of seeing and the visible.”

Leggere Fotografie - CAMeC

“Reading Photographs, an investigation of the link between photography and the art book. In the digital age, which seems to herald the end of the printed page, we are witnessing a proliferation of art works which combine photography and books, refocusing on the need for art as object. The exhibition, in two sections, points out the passionate aspect of the collection, conservation and propagation of important private collections and in a parallel way directs our attention to the contemporary publishing scene through a selection of self-productions and publications from independent publishers”

Overnight Generation book launch at DMB/Lucid-ly Space London

Posted on: November 23rd, 2013 by italomv

“We are proud to announce the launch of Venezuelan photographer Italo Morales‘ first publicaton entitled ‘Overnight Generation‘ at the DMB/Lucid-ly Space in Shoreditch.”

“Since its conception in 2012, the book has been shortlisted at Kassel Fotobookfestival’s Dummy Award, and was a finalist for the New York Photo Awards, and winner of the Photobook Slam at C/O Berlin.”

“This is the second time the work is shown in London, after its initial appearance in the LCC Nursery Gallery and the Freshfaced+Wildeyed exhibition at the Photographers’ Gallery.”

“Overnight Generation is a personal exploration of the often laborius life of post-war Sarajevo. It is not meat to be a moral admonition or a political indictment; it does not show the misery of the war as other publications on the subject do. This book provides a fascinating view of the young generation of one of the most exciting and at the same time most complex European capitals”

Please join us for the evening.
